Unique Roguelike Puzzler Available via Game Pass and PS Plus

One of the highest-rated games of the year is out now. What’s better- this is available via Game Pass Ultimate. Don’t feel left out if you’re a PlayStation user, though, as the game is also available if you’re a PS Plus Extra subscriber or higher. Blue Prince is a unique roguelike puzzler in which you traverse a manor of constantly changing rooms with new puzzles at every turn.

Blue Prince received a lot of praise when its demo was a part of Steam’s Next Fest earlier last month but its clear that any expectations people had for the game have been blown out of the water. As it turns out, navigating a mysterious mansion that has new puzzles to solve on every playthrough is as cathartic and intriguing as it sounds. Sitting at a 91 on Opencritic with 97% of critics recommending it, this release is a must play for all puzzle fans.

One site- PC Gamer- echoed a lot of praise that other sits had in their 92/100 score. They said the following:

“So grab a pen and paper. Lower the lights. Sit back, relax, and take your time. Draft your rooms, count your steps, and let the mysteries of the mansion slowly unfold to reveal one of the best puzzle games in years.”

It seems the game’s unique premise was especially well done according to TheGamer- who had the following to say in their 9/10 review:

“It will delight you, thrill you, and probably make you run crying to the internet for answers you can’t seem to tease out on your own. I’ve never played anything like it, but I won’t be surprised if we see more takes on the roguelike puzzler in the future because of it.”

It seems Blue Prince is a game best experienced by going in as blindly as possible- similarly to other great modern puzzle releases like The Witness and The Talos Principle. If you’re a fan of the genre, this is a must play- especially considering how its clawed its way to being one of the best rated releases of the year so far.
