Everybody 1-2-Switch Announced for Later This Month

Nintendo has just announced a surprise sequel to the most forgotten Switch launch title. Everybody 1-2-Switch was revealed in a low-key tweet from Nintendo of America. The release date was also set as the 30th of this month alongside a bizarre horse-head image that you can take a look at below:

Without even a trailer, basically nothing is known about this sequel except for the fact that it may contain some even bizarre party games than the original. If you take a closer look at the image, though, you might see that there are both joy cons and phones being used to participate. If its true that you can play with your phone, this will be the first of its kind on the Switch- and its also an idea I’m surprised hasn’t been utilised before. With the success of party games like Jackbox allowing anyone to join with their phones, Nintendo have clearly been taking notes to integrate similar features into their offerings.

As well as this tweet, a page was thrown up on the Nintendo eShop with some more limited information. However, one notable aspect is the price being set to £24.99. For a party game, this is quite a reasonable asking price, depending on the content of course. This is especially true when you consider that the original 1-2-Switch was a non-package £49.99 game on the launch of the Nintendo Switch. Low sales and reviews may have led you to believe that this franchise would never see the light of day again, but it seems Nintendo is taking another swing with a cheaper price point and a new mobile-centric model.

If you’re clambering for a successor to 2017’s 1-2-Switch for whatever reason, or if you just can’t wait for the release of this party game, you can pre-order Everybody 1-2-Switch on the eShop now for £24.99. Although details are sparse at the moment, take a look at Nintendo’s summary below if you’re interested:

“Get together in groups and compete in a host of weird and wonderful minigames, featuring everything from balloons to aliens, and more! In those games, you'll use your Joy-Con controller or smart device* in fun and unique ways, earning points for your team. In time-honoured fashion, the team with the most points gets to claim the glory!”
