Jurrasic Park Games Collection Announced

A classic bundle of NES, SNES, and Game Boy Jurassic Park games has just been confirmed for all modern platforms. Announced to be coming September 1st this year, the collection will contain all versions of the Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues games- equalling six titles in total. This is great news for fans as this is the first time these forgotten games will be coming to modern consoles.

Announced on the Limited Run Games site, the Jurassic Park collection will be coming physically for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 consoles for $34.99. The standard edition will contain a disc/cartridge and will likely be the best (and cheapest) way to pick these titles up if you’re interested in preserving them. On top of that, two other versions have been announced: the ‘classic’ and ‘prehistoric’ respectively. Take a look below at how much these will cost and what they’ll contain:

Classic Edition - $64.99:

  • Physical copy of the Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection

  • Steelbook

  • Packaging inspired by the original Jurassic Park VHS case

Prehistoric Edition - $174.99:

  • Physical copy of the Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection

  • Steelbook

  • Packaging inspired by the original Jurassic Park VHS case

  • Replica of Dr. Alan Grant's ID card inspired by the Jurassic Park game

  • Physical soundtrack CD with original music from the Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection

  • Mini replicas of original Jurassic Park NES, Game Boy and SNES game cartridges in a custom display frame

  • Packaging inspired by classic Jurassic Park toys

With the most expensive version costing a whopping $174.99, the more deluxe editions are for only the biggest superfans of these classics. On top of this, you can buy NES, SNES and Game Boy cartridges of each for between $49.99 and $69.99. If you’re the biggest ever fan of these niche games, however, you can also splash $99.99 on each for a light up cartridge when you place it into your console of choice.

With how forgotten these games are, this collection is certainly welcome- as are the physical versions offered to fans. If you’re just curious as to what this collection is about, however, it may be best to stick to the standard $34.99 version and leave the higher-up price points to the most committed fans (especially since it would cost over $750 if you wanted each of the unique cartridges with the collector’s edition!).
