Monster Train is Back on Game Pass Ahead of Sequel Release
Roguelike deck builder ‘Monster Train’ is available on Xbox Game Pass again after being removed from the service less than a year ago. The brief hiatus from the service has finally been halted- meaning you should be able to play Monster Train right now on all Game Pass tiers. This means you’ll also be able to stream the game to almost any device provided you have internet access.
The game’s sequel was recently announced with a playable demo being made available as part of Steam’s February Next Fest, so it makes sense for the studio to want to drum up new players in the lead up to Monster Train 2’s release. New mechanics, archetypes and challenges are promised for this sequel so if you enjoyed this hellish roguelike, its likely that you’ll have a good time with its sequel.
A release date or for Monster Train 2 has yet to be revealed but the demo is still playable now even after Steam’s Next Fest has concluded. It’s brief and only includes a couple of new archetypes to try out but its clear that this sequel is an expansion on the addictive roguelike formula of the first game. If you don’t have game pass, you can also pick it up for around £2 on Steam if you want to own the game for good- which is a fantastic deal for what may be one of the better deck builders to rival Slay the Spire in the genre.
