Astro Bot Sweeps Up Another Game of The Year Award at the BAFTAS

In what has proven to be a very successful awards season for Team Asobi, Astro Bot has won yet another Game of the Year award at the BAFTAS. This marks the 110th award snatched up by the studio and cements it as the most awarded game to release in 2025- putting it up there with the last few winners including Baldur’s Gate III and Elden Ring as all-timers.

Astro Bot was an immediate critical success when it launched last September and the love for this funny little robot has only grown greater in the last six months or so. That’s in no small part due to the additional updates in the form of new levels added to the game for free. So far, there have been 11 new levels including a special Christmas level and several speedrun courses to test player’s skills. Each of these have been completely free and lived up to the great design from the base game’s levels.

Any news on additional courses or a potential DLC has not yet been confirmed. Considering the commercial success of the game, however, it would be surprising to not see Team Asobi carry on with the Astro Bot series in some way. Whether that means that they’ll pivot towards a complete sequel is up in the air. With how this lovable bot has now basically become PlayStation’s mascot, however, hopefully we see more from him soon.

If you haven’t picked it up yet, you can get Astro Bot now on PS5. With so much PlayStation history packed into this package from every console generation, it’s a crowd pleaser for anybody even slightly interested in Sony’s releases.
