Final Fantasy VII Rebirth State of Play Date and Time Confirmed

At the tail end of PlayStation’s State of Play last week, it was announced that a full showcase dedicated to the second part of the FF7 Remake project, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, would be held this week. We now have the complete date and time to mark on your calendar. The event will be held on February 6th at 11:30pm GMT and can be watched via YouTube or Twitch on PlayStation’s official channels.

The length of the preview has not been revealed, but its likely to run for around half an hour if previous similar showcases from the likes of Nintendo are followed. This means we’ll see plenty of gameplay, story reveals and world spaces that will hopefully fill us in on what parts of the original Final Fantasy the remake will cover and what elements will be left for the third, final release.

There have been rumours that, much like the showcase for Final Fantasy XVI last year, Square Enix will drop a short demo for the game at the end of the demonstration. If this is like last year’s, the demo will run for around an hour and a half and will cover the opening portions of the game- with save data carrying over to the full version. It remains to be seen whether this is actually the case but, considering Square Enix’s recent support of demos for their games, it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise.

Whether you’re a fan of the Final Fantasy IP or were a big supporter of the first entry in the trilogy, its worth checking out this exclusive State of Play this week. Just keep in mind that you may want to miss out if you want to go into it completely spoiler free, as these presentations tend to overshare in terms of some gameplay elements. If you still want to watch it, you can do so at 11:30pm GMT on February 6th.
