Xbox Partner Showcase Coming This Week
Microsoft have officially announced that a Partner Showcase will be coming later this week on October 17th. This should run for just over 25 minutes and will feature over a dozen trailers from games heading to Xbox in the coming months. As this is a partner showcase, don’t expect any news on Xbox’s first party offerings like Fable or Indiana Jones. This will focus purely on third party releases.
While most of the showcase is shrouded in mystery, there have been some confirmed games that will make an appearance. Most notable is Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii which (aside from being a wild title), focuses on fan favourite character Goro Majima as he makes his western debut in Hawaii with a plot that is sure to continue the bizarre storytelling we’ve seen from the franchise for years. As this is not a mainline game in the series, expect a shorter romp in the vein of Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man who Erased his Name from last year.
Alan Wake 2 is making an appearance at the showcase too- with Remedy showing off more of their much anticipated ‘The Lake House’ DLC. This is likely to be the final piece of content coming to the game and will expand the Remedy verse (made up of games like Control and Alan Wake) even more so than we’ve seen before. Expect to find out more about a potential release date at this presentation.
Aside from this, we should see some more footage of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers (which sounds oddly like Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty from last year) as well as details from several other third-party releases coming to Xbox. With how brief this show is, hopefully, we can see some exciting announcements. Of course, there will be the obvious Hollow Knight: Silksong hopes but, much like every other time, its best to keep the clown makeup nearby if you think this showcase will finally be the one. You can check it out this Thursday, October 17th at 6pm BST.
