Xbox Game Pass in 2023 Offered Over £7,000 of Value

According to True Achievements in a recent report, Xbox Game Pass has provided its subscribers with almost $9,000 worth of games in the last 12 months alone. When converting that into Pound Sterling, that amounts to £7695 worth of content for only £132 over a year. This, yet again, demonstrates why Game Pass is the best deal in gaming- and why its competitors like Ubisoft+ and PlayStation Plus have a lot of catching up to do.

Some of the heaviest hitters of the year for Xbox include Starfield, Forza Motorsport, and Hi-Fi Rush, which all came to the service on day one. Other third-party releases coming on day one included ports of Persona 3 and 4, Wo Long Fallen Dynasty, and Sea of Stars- each of which were huge hits and likely bumped up Game Pass subscriber numbers significantly. If this trend continues into 2024, Game Pass will remain the best deal for gamers- especially in an age becoming more and more digital focus.

A big increase in this value coming next year will be from the eventual back catalogues of Activision Blizzard’s games coming to the system. This means that all of the old (and every upcoming) Call of Duty game will come to the service. This also means that new releases like Overwatch and Diablo IV will hit Game Pass at no additional cost- at least if Microsoft doesn’t bump up the price of their service accounting for this load of extra content.

Although 2023 was impressive, we haven’t received much news on Xbox’s 2024 plans just yet and, consequently, what may be coming to Game Pass. However, from what we have seen, things do look promising. From Eiyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes finally arriving in April and Persona 3’s ‘Reload’ remake coming at the start of February, there’s already more than enough content for those months alone. Other potential releases include Avowed and Starfield DLC- although its not confirmed whether this will actually be included in the service or if it’ll come next year at all. Either way, looking at how fantastic Game Pass was in 2023, let’s hope that the trend continues in the coming year.
