Turnip Boy Robs A Bank is Out Now!

A sequel to the insanely good ‘Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion’ has finally been released and is available to all Xbox Game Pass subscribers. When the first game launched back in 2021, it was praised for its fantastic comedy and surprisingly good gameplay. The game, unsurprisingly, featured the titular Turnip Boy, who is forced to go on an epic adventure after inadventantly committing the heinous sin of evading taxes. The game was a great, if short, Zeldalike that only lasted a couple of hours. However, if you’ve played it, you know that each minute of those two hours is fantastic.

The sequel promises to be bigger, better, and is even switching genres. Turnip Boy Robs a Bank (unsurprisingly) sees the gaming icon ‘Turnip Boy’ as he- I mean, its in the title. This is not merely a retread of Tax Evasion, however, as this entry introduces roguelite elements and gunplay that make this feel completely different from the previous game. Take a look at the description below offered by the developers:

“Turnip Boy is ready to commit more felonies in this comedic action-adventure game with roguelike elements. This time the career criminal is teaming up with the fearsome Pickled Gang to plan and execute the weirdest heist of all time! Shake down hostages, steal precious valuables, and explore the deep, dark depths and history of the Botanical Bank”

If this wasn’t enough to entice you, the game is currently sitting at a strong rating on Opencritic- with 80% of those who played it recommending it. Of course, 20% of those were only turned off by their morals against robbing banks, which is slightly harsh but understandable.

So, if you have a hankering to commit heinous crimes as a turnip with no moral hesitations, this is the perfect game for you. With an extended runtime of around four hours this time, there’s plenty of comedic action to go around. The game is out now on Xbox, PC and Switch- with lucky Game Pass players getting the game for free. Don’t fret if you haven’t played the original, however, as this is also on the service and is well worth playing.
