PS Plus LineUp for May Includes Tunic, Ghostrunner 2 and a Destiny 2 Expansion

In what appears to be one of the bigger monthly games refreshes for PlayStation in recent memory, May will allow subscribers to get their hands on a cute Zelda inspired indie, a fast paced samurai FPS, the latest entry in the EA Sports FC series (formally FIFA) as well as the latest expansion for Destiny 2 just in time for its last major content drop ‘The Final Shape’, which is coming at the start of June this year should it not be delayed any more. Each of these offerings will be available from May 7th.

Despite all of the grandiosity of the other games on the list, the surprise hit for many may turn out to be Tunic. This game, in which you play as a fox in a familiar green tunic, is inspired by classic 2D Zelda games but with a more advanced combat system and even some Soulslike elements thrown in for good measure. The artstyle and soundtrack alone are worth checking out for this title- just make sure to have a pen and paper nearby since you’ll need it for some of the game’s more abstract and convoluted puzzles.

Ghostrunner 2 makes a surprise appearance for free just six months after it launched last October. This hack and slash/FPS game sees you running and jumping around challenging combat scenarios to pull off perfect combos and parrys in a cyberpunk inspired world. The first game was fantastic and, considering that the sequel has a very positive 89% rating on Steam, its worth checking out if you’re craving a difficult to master FPS with some interesting platforming elements. Just keep in mind that there may be more than a few ragequits with this one.

Stepping over EA Sports FC 24, which is included in this month’s offerings but has pretty must no differences compared to the previous 10 years, we have Destiny 2: Lightfall. This is the most recent DLC ‘year’ of updates for Destiny 2 until the final major content drop comes next month. Although this does not include the base Destiny 2, you can pick it up for free on the PlayStation store so this puts you in prime position to experience what Bungie has for ‘The Final Shape’. Do keep in mind that the other four major updates will have to be bought separately, but these are often found on sale for very cheap on the PlayStation store. Once again, you can pick all four of these games up from 7th May as long as you have PS Plus Essential or above.
