Persona 3 Reload Expansion Pass Announced

During Xbox’s smaller scale Partner Preview showcase, we were treated to plenty of upcoming games coming to both Xbox and Game Pass in the coming months. One of the more surprising announcements, however, was that Persona 3 Reload would be getting additional content in the form of an expansion pass. The content ranges from additional costumes to an entirely new campaign and will provide extras until September of this year.

Dropping sometime in September, the most substantial part of this expansion pass by far is ‘Episode Aigis’, which is an epilogue to the main campaign of Persona 3 that was previously included as ‘The Answer’ in Persona 3 FES back on the PS2. There had been leaks that Atlus was planning on porting over this epilogue so this isn’t too big of a surprise. Considering that fans of the original game weren’t too thrilled with the original rendition of ‘The Answer’ due to its grindy mechanics and gameplay with no social sim elements to balance it out. Hopefully, however, Atlus manages to iron out some of the creases of this epilogue to make it a worthy successor to the base game.

Atlus announced that the expansion pass will be split into three different waves. Wave three will consist of The Answer, as previously discussed, but what exactly makes up the other two. The first is launching very soon on March 12th and will consist of Persona 5 Royal and Persona 4 Golden music being accessible for various parts of the game including traversing Tartarus and fighting in battles. Sometime in May, the second wave will also include some new music inspired by the Velvet Room appearances across the series. This will also include new costumes for each member of SEES to wear that will make them fit in with the other Velvet Room attendants.

Whilst it is exciting to have ‘The Answer’ be part of the remake, this all but confirms that the popular female main character option from Persona 3 Portable will not be making its way over. Although unfortunate, many fans saw this coming considering the massive difference between the two routes which included different music and social links. One upside is that fans have been working on a mod to add this character option and, so far, its looking great despite being in the early stages. Its worth checking out if you just can’t get enough of Persona 3- and is perfect to tide you over until The Answer launches in September.
