Xbox Reveal Line-Up for Game Pass Core

Launching today, September 24th, Game Pass Core is the replacement for Xbox Live Gold and is giving players an impressive line-up of games to replace the often-underwhelming monthly offerings. The service will cost the same as Gold, and the upgrade will happen automatically. So, you don’t need to do anything if you’re a member. You get to keep online play while getting a decent library of revolving picks from Xbox. Take a look below at the starting lineup:

  • Among Us

  • Astroneer

  • Celeste

  • Dead Cells

  • Descenders

  • Dishonored 2

  • Doom Eternal Standard Edition

  • Fable Anniversary

  • Fallout 4

  • Fallout 76

  • Firewatch

  • Forza Horizon 4 Standard Edition

  • Gang Beasts

  • Gears 5 Game of the Year Edition

  • Golf with your Friends

  • Grounded

  • Halo 5: Guardians

  • Halo Wars 2

  • Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice

  • Human Fall Flat

  • Inside

  • Limbo

  • Ori & the Will of the Wisps

  • Overcooked! 2

  • Payday 2: Crimewave Edition

  • Powerwash Simulator

  • Psychonauts 2

  • Slay the Spire

  • Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition

  • Stardew Valley

  • State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition

  • Superliminal

  • The Elder Scrolls Online

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge

  • Unpacking

  • Vampire Survivors

Each of these is taken from the main Game Pass library- but it seems to have been carefully curated to offer subscribers a wide range of genres and styles- both indie and AAA. Some highlights include Celeste, Dishonored 2, and Stardew Valley but every game in this selection is well worth your time. Compared to the archaic monthly games (which often consisted of some pretty bad offerings), this is definitely a substantial step up.

A bunch of genres are also covered with this list- from platformers to party games- and even immersive sims and MMOs. Since all of these are coming at no extra cost for prior Xbox Live Gold subscribers, there’s no reason to not check the vast majority of these out. Similarly to the regular Game Pass subscription, there will be a revolving door of offerings where some titles will be removed and added every month. Of course, Xbox exclusives like Forza and Gears aren’t going anywhere soon, but it will be interesting to see if this service gets any day-one offerings or if it will stick to the budget formula.
