Indiana Jones: The Great Circle is Coming to PlayStation
At Gamescom opening night, Microsoft revealed the release date for MachineGames’ upcoming Indiana Jones game- as well as announcing that it would come to PlayStation 5. Indiana Jones: The Great Circle is set to release on December 9th this year for Xbox and PC with PlayStation gamers being able to get their hands on it in Spring of 2025. No formal date has been set for the PS5 version as of yet.

This announcement also came alongside a new trailer that confirmed the existence of a premium edition which would most notably give players 3 days early access to the game alongside the first piece of story DLC titled ‘The Order of Giants’. Those familiar with Bethesda’s latest release, Starfield, will be familiar with this sales structure. Its important to note that the game will still be coming to Xbox and PC Game Pass on day one for all ultimate subscribers.
With Indiana Jones being Xbox’s big release of the year, it may come as a surprise to see it coming to PlayStation just a few months after its set to launch on Xbox. Considering that next year’s Doom: The Dark Ages is already confirmed to have a PS5 port, however, it makes sense to see another Xbox IP make its way over to PlayStation consoles. This comes after smaller Xbox exclusive games like Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment have already been ported over.

Whether this is indicitive of how Xbox exclusives will work in the future is up in the air- especially considering how Obsidian’s ‘Avowed’ has had no mention of a PS5 port so far. This is the same for 2023’s Starfield, As Phil Spencer said earlier this year when it was announced that Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, Grounded and Sea of Thieves would come to other consoles, there’s no ruling it out:
"I don't think we should as an industry ever rule out a game going to any other platform. But I don’t want to create a false expectation on those other platforms that this is somehow the first four to get over the dam and then the dam’s going to open and that everything else is coming, that’s not the plan today.”
You can pick up Indiana Jones: The Great Circle on December 9th for Xbox Series consoles and PC- with a PS5 port coming sometime next Spring.
