Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster File Sizes Revealed

The upcoming Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games have now had their file sizes announced for the PS4 and Nintendo Switch versions. The full breakdown can be found below:

-Final Fantasy- 612 MB -Final Fantasy II- 601 MB -Final Fantasy III- 734 MB -Final Fantasy IV- 734 MB -Final Fantasy V- 974 MB -Final Fantasy VI- 1.4 GB

These come courtesy of the Nintendo Switch Eshop listings of the games, which went live earlier last week. The total of these rounds out to 5.7GB if you’re looking to purchase the entire package. It’s important to note that these file sizes could be increased depending on any changes made to each game prior to release or any patches made on or after launch day.

A fun (depending on your idea of fun, I suppose) little titbit is that the smallest game in the package is Final Fantasy II, which comes in at 11MB smaller than the first game in the series. This is likely due to the more condensed world and characters of the second game which limits the customizability more so than the first outing. Of course, again, these file sizes could change upon release depending on a number of factors including bug fixes.

These file sizes line up with the sizes found on the Steam versions of each game- which indicate that the additional features for the Switch and PS4 releases don’t take up much room. Regardless, this is a good heads-up if you’re looking to download these on release day and need to make sure you have enough space. As another reminder, each game will drop on April 19th at 4 pm GMT.
