Cozy Farming Sim ‘Fields of Mistria’ Gets its Next Major Update Next Week

Charming farming sim ‘Fields of Mistria’ is receiving its biggest update since it first launched into early access in August of this year. This is set to add new mining exploration, character interactions and a new event to help rebuild the town after a mysterious earthquake. Despite only being in early access, the game offers over 30 hours of content- with more on the way with this new update launching on March 10th.

Fields of Mistria wears its influences on its sleeve. Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon have had a clear influence on this latest breakout indie hit but the game manages to do enough to differentiate itself. Set in a world of magic, you can use spells, ride a magical mount and discover a deeper hidden story related to the backstory of Mistria. Of course, you have the typical fishing and farming, but each element here already feels tight and fleshed out- despite it still only being in early access.

Future updates promise more skills, increased heart caps for romances and marriage as well as the introduction of even more characters, festivals and decorations to really make your farm your own. These will slowly be rolled out until the game eventually hits 1.0- with more features still likely to be added even after this point.

You can pick up Fields of Mistria in early access right now on Steam and, should you start playing now, you’ll likely be able to experience much of the content if the game’s first year before the next major content drop happens on March 10th. If you want a slightly less stressful version of Stardew Valley with just a bit of magic thrown in, Fields of Mistria is a must play and is shaping up to be one of the best modern games in the farming sim genre.
