The Tears of the Kingdom Guide is Huge

With just three days to go until the release of the 20th Legend of Zelda game, fans are gearing up to re-explore Hyrule on the ground and in the skies. With Tears of the Kingdom being the sequel to the insanely popular Breath of the Wild, Nintendo has launched exclusive controllers, consoles, and a variety of merchandise that is sure to explode onto in-store and online shelves in the coming weeks after release. One of the more notable of those items announced was the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom official guide- which is set to launch on June 16th- just over a month after the game's release.

To be clear, this is an officially licensed guide written by Nintendo specifically. This will generally mean it'll be far more accurate than the outsourced older guides for games in the early 2000s and 2010s. With more and more people turning to online forums for guidance on their videogames, guides have become more of a collector's piece anyway- which explains why Nintendo has shifted away from the regular releases of physical guidebooks and more into the special collector's edition versions as we can see here. With this guide being almost 500 pages and set to contain artwork and spoilers for the game, it makes sense to hold it back a month to stop players from ruining the biggest surprises in the game.

Earlier this year, several pages of this guidebook were leaked online- which Nintendo was unsurprisingly quick to take down. From what was seen, however, this looked to be a top-notch product in line with the quality Hyrule Historia books launched over a decade ago. This new book is likely also to be in line with the Breath of the Wild book that launched back in 2017. Given that this is around 1.5x the size, though, it gives an indication of just how much Tears of the Kingdom is set to expand and improve on the original game. Given that information, you may find it a struggle to finish the game before the guide comes out-especially if the book is set to cover every single aspect of the game (which it likely will give Nintendo's track record).

If this book is piquing your interest. the best place to pick it up would be Amazon- which is guaranteeing a June 16th delivery window for anyone with Prime. It's also important to note that two different versions of the guide will be available: paperback and hardback. They contain the exact same information and page counts, but the hardback may be the best choice for collectors considering its sleeker and more durable design. The paperback is selling right now for £19.73 and the hardcover for £29.99 -both on Amazon UK. If you're a hardcore Zelda fan or are just looking for a huge 500-pag paperweight, this likely won't be a disappointment.
