Astro Bot DualSense Controller Revealed

As the release date for Astro Bot draws ever nearer, PlayStation have announced that an exclusive controller will be coming to coincide with the game’s release. We’ve seen some nice-looking controllers for the PS5 in the past (looking at 2022’s God of War Ragnarok DualSense) but this one may just be the best yet. Encapsulating Astro Bot’s charm perfectly with two robotic eyes on the touchpad and blue accents on the handholds make this a very tempting pick up.

The limited-edition controller will begin pre-order sales on August 9th before its official release date of September 6th- coinciding with the release of the Astro Bot game. Like most Dualsense controllers, this will retail for £69.99. Astro Bot has been incredibly well received from fans and critics so far- with those who got the opportunity to play it at Summer Games Fest deeming it a fantastic expansion of the Astro’s Playroom formula. Of course, Astro’s Playroom was only a short 2-3 hour tech demo but, despite that, the game remains the best showcase of the Dualsense’s unique haptic feedback and adaptive trigger features.

If Astro Bot manages to maintain the charm found in Playroom, which, from the trailers we’ve seen so far, it seems to be doing, this could be one of the best PS5 games we’ve seen this generation. If you want the full Astro experience when the game launches in September, you may want to pick up the lovely little controller to go along with the release. Considering the hefty price of £69.99 for DualSense controllers, though (more than the price of the game itself), it may be better to wait for a price drop if it ever comes.
