All Xbox Game Pass Games Confirmed for October

Xbox have now confirmed their line up coming to Game Pass in September- and its one of their biggest months yet. With some of the most anticipated games of the year being included, next month is important for the service after the failure of Redfall earlier this year. To avoid another similar disaster, Microsoft will have to be very careful with fine-tuning Game Pass to be successful in the future. Take a look below at this list of hopeful releases:

September 6th- Starfield

The first, and most anticipated, game coming to Game Pass next month is Starfield. Bethesda’s first major RPG in eight years and their first original IP since the creation of the Elder Scrolls back in 1994, a lot is riding on Starfield to be a success. This space RPG epic has been heralded as ‘Skyrim in space’, and if Microsoft can replicate the impact that Skyrim had, there is a surefire critical and financial hit here. Given previous disappointments such as Fallout 76, a lot of fans are cautiously optimistic about this one, and it could really go either way. If you just can’t stand the wait, you can pre-order the premium edition to start playing on September 1st before the intended September 6th release.

September 19th- Lies of P

Another hotly anticipated game, Lies of P is a soulslike that has often been compared to FromSoftware’s ‘Bloodborne’ due to its gothic-era environments and inspirations. The twist here, however, is that Lies of P incorporates more mechanical elements and, as you may be able to tell from the title, also has a heavy focus on the fairy tale Pinocchio. Little is known about the plot of Lies of P so far, but you can play a free demo with the first couple of hours right now if this one looks like something you may be interested in.

September 20th- Party Animals

From intense to light-hearted, Party Animals is set to come to Game Pass on September 20th- the day after Lies of P. This party game looks to emulate Fall Guys with a wacky physics-based engine and fun mini-games sure to cause arguments between friends. With the ability to grab, throw, and even wack your enemies and allies with shovels, Party Animals is a must-try for those who miss the heyday of Fall Guys when it was at its peak back in lockdown. What’s even better is that this is completely playable online and offline- meaning, hopefully, a resurgence in the often-forgotten couch co-op.

September 21st- Payday 3

Just one day after Party Animals (meaning a three-day streak for Xbox Game Pass day-one releases), Payday 3 will finally release on September 21st. The much-anticipated co-op FPS about planning and carrying out intricate bank heists has been hyped up since the massive success of Payday 2 over a decade ago. With updated visuals, new maps and, of course, even bigger heists to pull off, Payday 3 looks to be one of the most fun and engaging co-op games of the year- if it delivers on its ambitious scope.

September 29th- Cocoon

The final confirmed Xbox Game Pass game for September (so far) is Cocoon, which is famously from the lead gameplay designer of Limbo and Inside. Since leaving Playdead, Jeppe Carlsen founded the new development studio ‘Geometric Interactive’- and Cocoon is set to be their first project. Set in a trippy, bizarre world with an even more bizarre concept, Cocoon lets you jump in and out of different worlds with wildly different environments. This is used for puzzles and progression and, to be honest, looks like a lot to wrap your head around. Still, if the developers can deliver the promise of this really unique idea, it’ll be a great addition for Game Pass.

While thats everything confirmed so far for Game Pass in September, Xbox is known to announce a release a few weeks or even days before it drops on the service. Don’t be surprised if Microsoft drop some more indie projects in next month- even with how stacked it already is. If at least a few of these hyped games deliver on their promises, September is set to be one of the biggest months for Game Pass ever.
