Three Games Come to Game Pass on the Same Day

Today, three different games are coming to Xbox Game Pass on console- meaning any subscribers to the service are getting a lot of value as we head into December. What’s better is that each of these offerings is distinct from the other and has some pretty impressive reviews. From a roller-blading third-person shooter to a unique real-time strategy game and an all-star fighting game, there’s a wide mixture of genres that are all worth a look.

The biggest game added is ‘Rollerdrome’, which received critical acclaim earlier last year for its take on third-person action combat. Instead of going from cover to cover, however, in Rollerdrome, you zoom around on roller skates performing combos while shooting down enemies. With a fantastic soundtrack and innovative take on the genre, this game developed by Roll7 rolled on to win a BAFTA last year for the Best British Game. If you’re looking for a fun twist on the action genre with a twist that is expertly pulled off, look no further than Rollerdrome when it comes to PC and Console for Game Pass later today.

Onto a far more niche genre, ‘Dune: Spice Wars’ is a real-time strategy game set in (unsurprisingly) the Dune universe. This micro-management complex project has already launched on PC Game Pass, meaning its migration to the Xbox Series X/S is not too big of a surprise. Keep in mind that this is a very complicated game and playing it with a controller may be slightly harder than a mouse and keyboard. However, if you are a fan of games such as StarCraft or Age of Empires and somehow haven’t given this a try, you can later on today for the first time on Game Pass for console.

The final offering is a bit of a surprise- as it was not pre-revealed until today. Killer Instinct: Anniversary edition is a brand new release to celebrate 10 years of the iconic Killer Instinct fighting franchise- with the most content out of any release so far. This release contains all of the premium paid content for the original Killer Instinct and also contains all 29 characters- meaning you’re getting the full package included in Game Pass without having to pay for any additional features. If this seemed like the kind of release you might be interested in as a fighting games fan, this is the perfect opportunity to jump into the series on either PC or Xbox Series X/S.

With the final offerings for November now complete, Game Pass looks to be ramping up even more next month. With huge releases such as Far Cry 6, Goat Simulator 3 and Rise of the Tomb Raider finally making their way to the platform, subscribers have a lot to look forward to over the next month. With smaller games like SteamWorld Build and While the Iron’s Hot also coming to the service, Xbox is doubling down on its Game Pass promises. Let’s hope that 2024 continues the trend and also brinds more first party offerings to the table.
