Playstation Releases 2022 ‘Wrap-Up’

In a similar vein to Spotify Wrapped, Sony has once again released its own year in review for 2022. Any player with an active Playstation account can view their Playstation ‘Wrap-Up’ for this year with https://wrapup.playstation.com/ and it’s proven to be an insightful tool for seeing what exactly people have been playing this year. The link will work only until January 2023, though, so you’d better act fast if you want to see all of the juicy information Sony has on you. On top of that, just by accessing your wrap up, you get access to one of six unique Astro Bot avatars- which is as good a reason as any to check out your year on Playstation.

The most important stats for most will likely be the total hours played, most played games and (of course), the amount of trophies earned from the beginning of 2022. That’s not all, however, as PlayStation has even broken down the number of days you logged in and how much of your time was spent online, offline or even in VR. While not too thrilling on its own, throwing all of this data into a graph for all PlayStation users will shed light on how (and when) most gamers play. By going through the wrap up, you will receive a card showing the most important stats- as well as your most played game. That'll look a little like this (give or take a few Elden Ring hours based on your own personal preference):

Personal statistics weren’t all that were showcased, however, as some of Playstation’s biggest games shared their global data. These included God of War: Ragnarök, Horizon: Forbidden West and Indie Game of the Year winner Stray. Notable information included the number of Kratos’ axe throws, amount of arrows shot by Alloy and, of course, the amount of meows in Stray. If you're wondering, its over a billion. Strangely enough, that’s not too much of a surprise.

It remains to be seen whether this will become a yearly event for Sony, but given the huge year of exclusives coming up, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a 2023 wrap-up coming at the tail end of next year. Microsoft haven’t yet announced any similar service (although Nintendo have with their ‘year in review’: https://nintendo-switch-2022.nintendo.com/en-gb/ ), but hopefully, Playstation’s efforts here inspire some more yearly round-ups of our favorite games. Let’s hope 2023 gives gamers even more of a reason to look back fondly on that year’s releases.
