Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer Dropping Tomorrow

In a recent Instagram post from Rockstar Games, the company has teased that the first trailer for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto game is coming tomorrow, December 5th, at 9AM CT (15:00 GMT). The post has already amassed a massive 5,706,779 likes in a just a few days- making it the most liked post in gaming history. Considering how its just a teaser image for a trailer, that’s very impressive but, considering the massive popularity of the franchise, not too surprising.

Rockstar already teased that a trailer for the next entry in the GTA series would be coming sometime this month. However, until now, an exact date was not provided. Considering how well this ‘early December’ timeframe lined up with the Game Awards on December 7th, fans were expecting to have to wait until Thursday to see the trailer. Luckily, it seems that this announcement will be coming sooner than many expected. Considering how huge Rockstar and the Grand Theft Auto series is, they’re more than able to hold their own trailer reveal independent from any gaming showcases.

Speculation about the next Grand Theft Auto has been running rampant in the last few days. From characters to guesses about the location, rumour circles have been sent into overdrive- which is a big deal when you consider that GTA VI is likely the most speculated about game of all time- right alongside the likes of the Elder Scrolls VI and Hollow Knight: Silksong. Of course, thanks to the leaks of last year, we’ve seen a bit more of GTA VI than those other games but, as of now, the majority of the experience is still a complete mystery.

The vague nature of the teasers and lack of specificity about the game’s name has led more than a few fans to worry about whether this announcement is really for GTA VI. Considering how shady Rockstar can be at times (look to the GTA remastered trilogy or Red Dead Redemption port for examples), people have speculated that this trailer will showcase GTA V DLC or a spin-off game. However, considering how hyped up this trailer has been, this is most certainly for the next entry in the GTA series- if not in name exactly, then definitely in spirit. The wait is almost over for fans and, after 10 years, its about time.
