Charming Indie ‘Lil Gator Game’ Comes to Xbox Game Pass Today

In the monthly Xbox Game Pass announcements, Microsoft revealed a surprisingly great line-up of games that would be coming to the service in April. This includes the third entry in the stylistic slow motion Superhot franchise, the definitive conclusion of Lara Croft’s trilogy in Shadow of the Tomb Raider and, most excitingly, a cute little indie release about an alligator with an overwhelmingly positive rating on Steam: Lil Gator Game.

Lil Gator Game was released back in 2022 and was met with acclaim from critics and fans. The game was published by Playtronic, who you may know from other releases including Demon Turf and the divisive Yooka Laylee. Following on from those indie adventures, Lil Gator Game sees you play as a Alligator who uses fun movement in a small open world where you interact with a cast of interesting critters. This follows in the footsteps of other indie releases including the fantastic ‘A Short Hike’ which is also currently on Game Pass.

Much like ‘A Short Hike’, Lil Gator Game is a very condensed release that will only take around 4-5 hours to completely clear. That’s not a bad thing, though, as it allows the game to deliver a consistently fun and engaging adventure without the overwhelming amount of bloat often seen in a lot of modern releases. If you want something of a reset and a break from your gaming backlog with huge hundred hour long games, give this indie release a try. You can play Lil Gator Game today on PC or your Xbox console via Game Pass.
