Dave the Diver Godzilla DLC Available for a Limited Time

Months after its announcement, the Godzilla DLC for Dave the Diver is out now across all platforms and is available to purchase to all players for free. There is an important note to this DLC, however, as it will no longer be possible to play after November 23rd of this year- putting a 6-month limit on Godzilla’s reign. If you download the DLC pack before this time, you will still be able to play it but just make sure that you add it to your library or you’ll lose out on this content for good and, considering the fantastic launch trailer than pits the king of the Kaiju against another massive titan: Ebirah the horror of the deep.

In terms of content, this pack likely falls into a similar category to the Dredge crossover, in which special aberrated fish would appear on foggy days, allowing Dave to catch them and sell them for a profit to suspicious cultists. The Godzilla DLC will also likely slot in alongside the main game as you casually assist a colossal, injured titan in between catching fresh fish and serving said fish to patrons of your sushi restaurant. Thankfully, it seems that fighting Godzilla is off the table which, considering how the big lizard can’t seem to die, is probably a good thing for Dave.

The reason as to why the DLC will no longer be available after November hasn’t been made clear but its likely due to MINTROCKET (developers of Dave the Diver) only holding the license for Godzilla over this 6-month period. Considering how notoriously protective the owners of the Godzilla brand, Toho, are, it isn’t too surprising to see a date limit to this content being accessed. Even if you don’t feel like playing any more Dave the Diver in the next few months, it’s a good idea to add this DLC to your library on your console of choice so you can access it in future. Again, its available for free for everyone now so there’s no excuse to not give this latest mini DLC a go.
